An Interview with the Founder of Vivos
Vivos is the world’s largest underground shelter provider. They create bespoke and luxurious accommodation all over the world. Their underground shelter complexes can house thousands of survivors should the need to use it ever arise.
The Real Survivalists recently had the opportunity to ask the Founder and CEO of Vivos, Robert Vicino, some questions to find out more about these HUGE shelters and how he plans on effectively saving the human race if the worst happens.
Tell us about Vivos
I launched Vivos in 2008, following a divine inspiration that I received in 1982, while in my 20’s, that I needed to build deep underground shelters for thousands of people to survive an extinction level event coming our way. At the time, this was the furthest thing from my mindset, enjoying a successful international business with several hundred employees that I started in my garage. Yet, I took the message seriously and began evaluating how this could be done, with my then limited expertise. I put it off, with the sense that I had time and that the world wasn’t quite ready. In 2007, I mentioned it to my colleagues and was inspired to get going with a sense of urgency. I dedicated all my resources to creating Vivos and getting the word out that it was time to prepare for what was ahead.
Over the past decade Vivos has built and developed shelters around the world, with current accommodations for more than 10,000 people. Vivos shelters are deep underground, fully self-contained complexes designed to survive or substantially mitigate virtually any catastrophe, or threat scenario including natural or man made disasters.
My goal is to continue to expand our shelter network as far and wide as possible, while we still can.
What makes the Vivos shelters so safe?
Whatever the threat, our shelters are built and engineered to withstand or mitigate just about everything from a pole shift, to super volcano eruptions, solar flares, earthquakes, tsunamis, pandemics, asteroid strikes, the anticipated effects of Planet X/Nibiru, man made threats including nuclear explosions, a reactor meltdown, biological or chemical disasters, terrorism and even widespread anarchy. We do not build flimsy corrugated pipes, or metal tanks and call them shelters, as those are not structural and will not withstand the anticipated forces.
Whenever possible, Vivos buys existing Cold War Era bunkers, formerly built by the national governments, out of concrete and steel. If the structure is still sound and meets all our requirements, at the right price, we will buy it. We then begin an exhaustive refurbishment and outfitting process that typically costs many times the actual acquisition price. Our criteria considers the location, proximity to major metropolitan areas, distance from known targets, distance from large bodies of water, altitude, climate, access, resources, security, privacy, structural condition, land area and many more factors.
The bottom-line is if it is not safe both inside and out, we won’t build or pursue it.
What advice would you give someone who wants to start becoming more prepared?
Get started, yesterday! Whether you believe the necessity or not, preparing is a good thing and will cause you to consider many facets beyond just food, water and fuel. Not preparing will be much more expensive, if you consider the value of your life and your loved ones.
We cannot predict, but we can prepare. We cannot fix the world’s problems, nor avoid them, but we can protect ourselves from them. Most people don’t believe this stuff will ever happen, despite the evidence that it has many times in mankind’s history. Noah wasn’t the first. These global catastrophes occur roughly every 3,500 years. The last was 3,500 years ago. The Noah event was 10,500 years. Do the math, and you will understand that the time has come around again.
Think of the loop as a figure 8, with the junction between the upper circle and the bottom being an “X”. That is the crossing from one age to the next. That was the inspiration for Vivos xPoint, as the point in time when only the prepared will survive.
We are now crossing through the X. The passage will take many years with many events, each more severe than the last. Few will survive it, as this time will be worse than all prior crossings. Putting your head in the sand and saying: “I don’t believe it,” or “I don’t want to hear this stuff,” will not save you.
Many believe they will be saved by God, certain that the coming events are the “End Times”. They are banking on being raptured and avoiding this tribulation. Maybe so, but what if they aren’t, or the rapture doesn’t happen? I have coined the term “Rapture Insurance”. God will find you deep underground in a Vivos shelter if you are on his list to be saved. Vivos is Rapture Insurance!
How and why did you become so involved in the survival and preparedness field?
I didn’t do this by design or plan, but by destiny. Apparently, I was chosen to do so, because I could, possessing the right skill sets, resources and capital to bring Vivos to reality. 35 years ago, I had no idea what to do, or how to get started. That time span allowed me to develop and prepare for this mission. Believe me, I often wonder why I am not sitting on a private yacht, or on a tropical island. Unfortunately, there is no turning back. I am on the proverbial yacht, in a massive storm at sea, with no where to go, but forward.
Along the way I have learned a tremendous amount about the threats and the spiritual forces behind them. I spend several hours a day voraciously reading and researching everything that is going on. I guess I am now an expert on both the problems and the solution – Vivos!
Interestingly, I have noticed that most of the survival experts talk about the problems, from their unique perspective, but none of them offer a real survival solution, other than pray, huddle, homestead, and follow them!
The governments of the world won’t tell you about a problem, without offering you a solution. Doing so would cause mass panic and a meltdown of society. So, they believe it is better for mankind to enjoy every day forward without knowing, until of course there’s no hiding it. In the meantime, they “TPTB” have prepared deep underground bunkers (DUMBS), on high and dry ground, for themselves and their elite. Got missing trillions? Yup, that’s where it all went. Most importantly, they are now done. Their shelters are completed, locked and loaded for thousands of people, but not you or me.
Ask yourself why. Why did they spend 30 years and trillions of dollars to build these deep bunkers? What do they know that they aren’t telling us?
Why do you think it is important to create a community rather than go it alone in smaller shelters after a disaster?
A small backyard shelter is fine for the flash, assuming you have enough notice to get in it and lock the door. What if you are sleeping, not watching television (assuming there will be an alert broadcast), at work, school or shopping. What good did that backyard shelter do for you? Even if you do make it into your small shelter with your family, how long can you defend it when the hoards discover your air vent and want what you’ve got inside for themselves? Even a well-armed and trained family will not be able to defend their bunker 24/7, for long.
I have a different approach that is a real solution where shelters are built to withstand the anticipated forces, while the community of shelterists provide each other with both skill sets and defenses. Everyone has each other’s back, with a secured perimeter far from all large population areas and targets.
Which brings up the proverbial, “how do we get there?” Let’s reverse that and recognize that many people have their 3-day bugout bag, but nowhere to bugout to. They’ll head for the hills, the country or the desert, but guess what, that’s where everyone else will go to, and they won’t be prepared with a bag or supplies, so get ready to hand yours over. Whether you leave well in advance of an event, during or after, the key is to have a real shelter community solution to go to.
Vivos has analyzed virtually every scenario and has determined that they all provide some form of advance notice. Vivos members are all alert and following the signs, ready to evacuate when and if necessary. Some will arrive months in advance given the opportunity, while others will get there just in time, or even after; but they will get there. When they do, they will have a safe harbor, with like-minded people, fully prepared both underground and on the surface.
In your opinion, what is the biggest threat to life as we know it right now? What should people be preparing for?
The original message I received was “something that is coming our way.” Meaning it is not here, yet. It is coming from space and it is called Nibiru aka Planet X. NASA announced it found it with the IRAS satellite telescope in 1983. The story broke in all the major newspapers and the cover of the U.S. News & World Report in December 1983. They said it wouldn’t be here for 50 years. Then, President of the United States, Ronald Regan realized the panic that would set in if the true timeline and disaster that will happen was understood by the public. He wrote an Executive Order that prohibited all government agencies from ever mentioning it again. In the meantime, the U.S. and other governments immediately began building their DUMBS. Follow what they do, not what they say.
They know, we don’t. So, Vivos is prepared for whatever and whenever the SHTF. Next to the governments, Vivos is the largest network of real shelters.
What do you enjoy most about being a part of the Vivos community?
The community and alerting others to prepare for what is ahead!
What is next for Vivos?
Onward and downward, building as many shelters in as many countries as we can. My goal was always to accommodate 1 in every 1 million people on the planet. We have now exceeded that.
My next goal is to build a massive complex for several thousand people and give away the spaces to those people I would not want to be down there without! A true cross-section of society including all races, religions, ages, and skill sets.
Vivos is not about concrete and steel. We are about coming out the other side, through the blast doors, when it is safe to do so again. I mentioned the “X” point above. We are coming out of the bad loop below of the figure “8” and heading into the good loop above. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that – the next phase of humanity?
Hopefully, others will pick up the Vivos baton and carry this forward. I only hope they remember me.
What shelter options do Vivos offer for those who do not necessarily want to be a part of your larger scale shelters?
We build large private bunkers for those that can afford them, anywhere, scalable to any number of occupants, on virtually any terrain. However, even a Dubai prince recently balked at the price for his planned 100-person shelter in the desert.
That said, it has always been my goal to keep the price as affordable as possible for the masses, not the elite. Every location is different based on our costs, divided by the number of occupants to share their respective bunker. We’ve got it down to just a few thousand dollars in our shared bunkers. But then, we do get people that aren’t willing to share with others they don’t know. That’s like saying: “I won’t get on the last plane out of Dodge before disaster strikes, because I don’t know who is going to be aboard”. Really? Let me know how it works out for you with millions of people you don’t know on the surface that may have you for lunch. Note: Mankind will resort to cannibalism after just 21 days of starvation!
Vivos is about to announce a new Quantum private “backyard” shelter, that comes complete for 5 to 6 people, for under $30,000. It is revolutionary in design and thus allows us to keep the cost down. We recommend you don’t bury it in your backyard in the middle of the suburbs, but rather find a plot in the country that will be secret and give you a buffer of defense. Then, pray you will be able to ride out the event(s) and the aftermath!
What type of person is best suited to the Vivos community? What skills are you particularly looking for to help maintain life after a disaster?
Vivos seeks people of all levels, doctors, nurses, dentists, contractors, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, mechanics, firemen, musicians, artists, educators, military, police, survivalists, scientists, preachers, farmers, hunters, engineers, programmers, architects, accountants, communication experts, media, pilots, seamstresses, and those with a great deal of common sense. Notice, I left off politicians and lawyers!
We want open minded, level headed, people that are tolerant of others, while wanting to help with their unique skill sets. People that already get it, without our giving them a sales pitch.
We turn down nearly 30% of applicants due to their obvious issues with themselves and hatred of others. Loons and tards are not welcome. For example, if they wouldn’t go down into a bunker that has children, different races or religions, they are not “tolerant” and won’t be able to get along with others before, during or after an event. We look at the color of their attitude, not the color of their skin. We try to determine the size of their heart and their ability to share and care for others.
We like young and old, preferably of child bearing ability, now or in the future, as we may have the obligation of repopulating the planet. Elders are also very respected for their wisdom and knowledge. Finally, they need to be able to afford the cost of entry. We are not a homeless shelter, nor are we able to help those that aren’t willing to help themselves. At the end of the day, Vivos is just an investment in your life, that you hope you will never need to use, but if you do, it will be priceless!
Vivos is the backup plan for humanity.
